‘Perfect Days’ Trailer: Wim Wender’s Cannes Hit Arrives At Angelika Film Center Tomorrow, Hits Theaters Everywhere In 2024

Wim Wenders returned to the Croisette at the Cannes Film Festival in a big way this year with “Perfect Days.” The German director’s first film since 2017’s “Submergence” wowed audiences at the festival, with the movie nabbing the Prize Of The Ecumenical Jury and the Best Actor Award for star Kōji Yakusho. Now, after further screenings at TellurideTIFFLondon, and NYFF this Fall, it’s time for US audiences to see “Perfect Days” for themselves.

Wenders’ latest starts its theatrical rollout in the US tomorrow with a special engagement at Angelika Film Center. The film then hits theaters everywhere early next year.

Here’s an official synopsis of “Perfect Days,” courtesy of NEON:

Hirayama seems utterly content with his simple life as a cleaner of toilets in Tokyo. Outside of his very structured everyday routine he enjoys his passion for music and for books. And he loves trees and takes photos of them. A series of unexpected encounters gradually reveal more of his past.

Along with Yakusho, “Perfect Days” also stars Tokio EmotoArisa NakanoAoi YamadaYumi Okumura, and Sayuri Ishikawa. Wenders co-writes the film with Takuma Takasaki. Wenders and Takasaki also co-produce “Perfect Days” with Koji Yanai.

“Perfect Days” starts its engagement at Angelika Film Center tomorrow, on November 10. Watch a trailer for the film below and stay tuned for details on its further theatrical rollout next year.
